People often ask me how I find my motivation or how I stay on track. Mindset really is everything. How do I find my motivation?
It’s cliché, but find your reason why. If you don’t know why you’re losing weight, then what’s the point? Whatever your reason, focus on that and remind yourself why you are doing it regularly. Put reminders on sticky notes around the house, make a vision board of things you want to be able to do, and set many small short-term achievable goals to get you where you want to be.
Stay on track by not focusing on the big picture. Focus on what’s right in front of you. When you take a drive you can’t just jump to the end, you have to take all the curves and turns and stoplights on the way. Sometimes you hit a pothole and get a flat tire, sometimes you hit every green light along the way. Sometimes there’s a huge traffic jam. Expect inconsistency. Expect plateaus. Think of your weight loss as a journey, not a destination. Fitness and health are a life-long endeavor.
