Today’s Workout – Upper Body

Today’s new machines are the Ab crunch and the shoulder press. Both of these machines were WAY harder than they looked and I couldn’t do as much as I thought I could on them. The ab crunch may not be visited again for a while as it really hurt my lower back, but I’m feeling off today anyhow, so I’ll probably try it again when I feel better.

Elliptical – .30 mi
Abdominal – 10 reps @90lbs, 10 reps @70lbs, 5 reps @ 90lbs, 15 reps @70lbs
Ab crunch – 5 reps @30lbs and I was saying ouch!
Lat pulldown – 10 reps @70lbs, 10 reps @55lbs, 15 reps @40lbs
Chest press –  5 reps @ 45lbs (ouch!), 10 reps @ 30lbs, 15 reps @ 15lbs, 10 reps @30lbs (almost didn’t make it through those)
Seated row – 10 reps @75lbs, 10 reps @ 60lbs, 10 reps @45lbs, 15 reps@ 30lbs
Shoulder press –  5 reps @45lbs (way harder than it looks!), 5 reps @30lbs,  5 reps @ 15lbs, 5 reps @30 (almost didn’t finish this)
Bicep curl – 2 sets of 10 reps @40lbs was really hard!
Tricep extension – 2 sets of 10 reps @45lbs and my arms were DONE.
Elliptical – Another .25mi to finish off the day.

I also realized today that if I listen to one of my favorite songs – Chimerical by B.E.R. – that it gets me to exactly .25 mile if I keep up at a 4 speed on level 10-12. This pushes me and my legs are burning but it’s perfect timing so I just fight through it until the song is over.
