Well, maybe anyhow?
I don’t know why I let my anxiety get the best of me for so long. My body hasn’t been very happy with me and I really missed the gym. Today was difficult in so many ways, but it was so worth it!
I have been trying to talk myself into heading back to the gym for weeks now. MONTHS even. You can tell by the lack of posting that I haven’t exactly been motivated. I have been pretty consistently gaining 2lbs per week for the last couple of months and today was just enough.
On Tuesday I visited my doctor’s office and weighed in on their scale at 262lbs. YIKES! Talk about a dose of reality. We discussed getting me back on Adipex/phentermine to kickstart my metabolism and curb my appetite. To do this, I had to give up my Ritalin, so hopefully this will work out overall for the best. I was actually going in to talk to them about upping my Ritalin since I haven’t been able to focus for crap and I just want to eat all day long, but then I remembered I tried the Adipex 2 years ago and it actually made me feel like I was alive again, so here’s hoping.
Anyway, I got about 3 hours of sleep last night and I wasn’t actually planning on going to the gym because it was 7 degrees outside when I took Void to school this morning and I just wanted to go back to bed. But instead, I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Then when I got home I had only planned on looking through my workout clothes in hopes of finding something that would fit me comfortably to go in “sometime next week”.
One I found clothes that fit properly, I figured what the heck? They are already on my body. Let’s take Bowie to the gym! I only planned on walking about 1/2 mile and then leaving because, let’s face it, my anxiety has been a huge freaking MONSTER lately and I thought even that would be tough. And honestly, it was. But once I got done with the 1/2 mile on the treadmill, I headed over to the circuit room and decided to just get some more things in while I was there. Not many people had shown up yet, so it was fairly quiet.
I am happy with the workout I did today. I pushed myself, I sweat, and I ended up in the cardio zone for pretty much the entire time I was working out (36 out of 45 mins) so I’ll take that as a great fresh starting point.
